The DSC will be hosting a booth at the

Oakley Community Awareness Day

Saturday, May 14


The event is presented by the Degree of Pocahontas Wi Cha Ka #222 and take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. At the Red Men/Pocahontas Hall at 1403 Main Street, Oakley.

The event will feature various service organizations from East County offering information on services available to residents in the area. Groups attending will offer information for children, adults and seniors, information on health services, non-profit groups and more.

The purpose of the event is to help residents have access to a wealth of information they may need on various topics, as well as let them know what Oakley and the surrounding communities have to offer.

East Contra Costa County Fifth Graders will be taking educational cruises on the RV Brownlee Science Vessel in January and February 2011 courtesy of the Delta Science Center.
